Family News :-
You will note above that
the Men’s Breakfasts are now taking place at 8am on the first Saturday each
month; this is an exciting development as Bryan and David T have teamed up with
Steve Jenkins at Life Central to have joint time together – just part of God’s
plan to have more ‘partnership in the gospel’.
Please pray that the men’s ministry across the town will be more ‘joined
up’ in the coming year.
Regarding Home Groups,
as elders we have looked at rationalising the groupings to help make them more
viable, including adding those who are not currently part of a group. We will announce the new settings at our next
housegroups together meeting in March.
It was a great blessing
to be part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Thanks go to all the churches that hosted a
prayer time. There was a different
flavour to each gathering whilst maintaining the theme of unity and
kingdom. It was really good to see so
many with us on Sunday evening to end the week with a celebration. We look to see the fruit of our prayer
together. We will announce the next
joint churches prayer time soon.
One of the things that
has been clear in prayer from Holy Spirit in recent months, from different
places in the world, is the cry for the prodigals to return. Please continue to pray for the ‘prodigals’
in your own family and friendship circle.
As elders we encourage every one of our church family to pray in small
groups (2/3/4’s) on a regular basis – you will be amazed at the results !! Remember – Much Prayer Much Power, little
prayer little power, no prayer………
We still look to baptise
Kate shortly, and encourage any among us who have not been through believer’s
baptism, to see one of the elders and we will help prepare you for this vital
step on your journey of faith.
Ashley and Julie on the arrival of their new granddaughter born January 27th
named Madeline; mum & baby doing
well; also to Ray & Angie on arrival of their new grandson Miles Henry born
the same day !
Thank you all for
praying for our Trustees & Elders meeting in January – we had a constructive
and encouraging time looking at the structure and finances of the fellowship in
the past year and going forward. God has
amazed us once again by providing all our needs and maintaining a good
financial position at the end of 2016.
Bob Rhodes will be reporting on the accounts for 2016 in one of our
upcoming housegroup together meetings, once the accounts have been audited.
Please pray for Pete
Sawyer as he attends interviews for a number of jobs in the next few
weeks. Pete is currently working night
shifts in Waitrose as a temporary stopgap, and it has been good to have him fellowship
with us since returning from New Zealand.
We praise God that our
Centre is being used more and more for the good of the community – we know that
as we welcome people into God’s house they will be aware of the atmosphere of Father’s
love, which will bring changed hearts.
Big thanks to Bob R
& Caley for taking on some Admin tasks for Bob H, as his work expands on
the community outreach vision of the church’s life.
The Churches Together
Schools Team will be doing an Easter presentation to Year 7 Courtfields pupils at the Methodist
Church week commencing 27th February. Please pray for this God given opportunity to
present the gospel to the young people in school. Praise God for the work of Gideon’s who are
putting bibles into all the schools, including Courtfields and Wellington
